Dr Raj Jagavkar is a senior radiation oncologist and Director of our new Cancer Care Macarthur department.With over 25 years’ of clinical experience, his clinical focus encompasses a comprehensive range of adult cancers, including haematological, lung, upper gastrointestinal, breast, and skin cancers with subspecialty expertise in urological malignancies and prostate cancer management.

With a commitment to leveraging advanced technology for optimal clinical outcomes, Dr Jagavkar’s background includes graduating with honours from the University of New South Wales in 1992 and earning a Fellowship from The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 2000. He subsequently completed a fellowship at The Long Beach Memorial Hospital in California, and the Seattle Prostate Institute in prostate brachytherapy. Dr Jagavkar’s overall experience, gained from diverse clinical settings including significant roles at the esteemed campuses of St Vincent’s Hospital and St Vincent’s Clinic in Sydney since 2001 and contributions to pioneering cancer treatment programs, has equipped him with a unique perspective on patient care. Previously, his professional positions included serving as Director of Radiation Oncology at St Vincent’s Hospital for over 10 years and as Chairman of the Australasian Brachytherapy Group, where his efforts contributed to significant advancements in cancer treatment.
